Botanical and Traditional Context

Scientists commonly refer to the Moringa Oleifera (Moringa) as the ‘miracle tree’ due the myriad of nutritional benefits offered by all parts of the plant. In particular, the leaves are densely packed with nutrients value.

Originating from India, and brought to Africa’s east coast by past migrating generations, the moringa plant is accredited to sure over 300 diseases by India’s ancient traditional ayurveda medicine.

The word ‘muula’ means to enliven, and is a colloquial term used in central eastern parts of Malawi – one of our sourcing regions.
